Research Projects

- “Design of energy-efficient MAC protocol based on IEEE 802.1.5.4.” Sponsorship: Sponsored by Samsung Electronics (2007). This project is intended to design a new MAC protocol for wireless personal area network (PAN). The reference target is IEEE 802.15.4.

- “Design of energy-efficient routing protocol for wireless sensor networks.” Sponsorship: Sponsored by Samsung Electronics (2008).This project is intended to design a new routing protocol for wireless personal area network (PAN). Location information of each sensor is utilized to reduce protocol overhead.

- “Application of game theory and cross-layer optimization to wireless communication.” Sponsorship: Sponsored by Korean government (2008-2011). In non-cooperative wireless communication environment exhibiting severe contention and strategic decision, previous approaches fail to capture user behavior.   In this project, we model the wireless networks under such environment using the game theory. By doing so, we aim at gaining insight on network dynamics and at designing an incentive mechanism to drive the system to our desired operating point.
